Innovative Grant Program to be Implemented for Up to 30 Facilities to Improve Quality of Care
MINNEAPOLIS, April 22, 2021 (BUSINESSWIRE) — The State of Minnesota seeks grant applications from qualified nursing homes interested in training, certifying, and credentialing staff members in quality dementia-care online training. HealthCare Interactive, located in St. Louis Park, MN, has been selected to provide its CARES online training programs for this initiative. This grant program is funded through the state’s Civil Monetary Penalties (CMP) program and has a value of $6,543 in training services to each facility.
This training package includes CARES Dementia Basics and CARES Dementia-Related Behavior training for all facility staff during a one-year period, the CARES Dementia Specialist (C.D.S.) credentialing program for up to 5 staff members per facility to go through the entire 40-hour CARES curriculum, and optional monthly webinars for administrators and educators to provide strategies to improve care for residents, facility-wide.
