SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. and LONDON, UK, May 31, 2018 — Apriva, LLC, a technology company providing an adaptive platform for secure mobile communications and omnichannel payments, and Miura Systems, the market-leading UK-based mPOS platform provider, announced today the completion of an EMV certification to Vantiv’s processing platform for Apriva’s mobile software developer’s kit (SDK) using the Miura M010 mobile card reader.
Supporting twelve different transaction types, this is one of the most extensive EMV certifications to date in the United States. The certification includes every major card brand from Visa, MasterCard, American Express through to Discover, enabling the use of EMV chip card technology for both PIN debit and credit transactions, as well as online and offline PIN, with the Miura M010 card reader. Additionally, the certification covers MSR transactions and compatibility for contactless ApplePay®, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay alongside support for contactless EMV cards.
“The Miura M010 perfectly complements the security and breath of payment transactions supported by the Apriva payment platform,” said Scott Dowty, chief revenue officer at Apriva. “By partnering with Miura Systems, Apriva can deliver an astounding range of payment options to mobile merchants and independent software vendors (ISVs) looking to securely integrate payments into their software solutions.”
Apriva’s integration services allow software developers to quickly add payment processing to any mobile, web or traditional point of sale solution. Integrators can programmatically interface with the Apriva platform via APIs and a streamlined SDK to access more than two dozen North American payment processors supporting credit, debit, stored value, loyalty, EBT, EMV, as well as mobile payment acceptance. With Apriva integration services, businesses can get to market faster and gain a competitive edge without spending time, budget, or resources to build a POS system from scratch.
“Apriva has partnered with VirtuCrypt for remote key injection (RKI) on the Miura M010,” said Benjamin Hurley, senior director of mobile product management at Apriva. “This partnership allows us to support DUKPT and PIN keys, as well as Miura OS and configuration files all over the air.” Apriva is the first company to deliver this unified RKI solution for mobile readers in the United States.
From the hardware perspective, Miura’s M010 reader creates a seamless retail experience, transitioning from counter-top to mobile with ease. The device connects to a tablet cash register or POS system, unclipping to function wirelessly via Bluetooth connectivity. This EMV solution is the most versatile on the market, offering expansive payment options for both merchants and their customers.
“Miura is pleased to support this integrated payment solution for mobile merchants,” said Darren Shaw, chief product officer at Miura Systems. “Apriva’s robust payment platform leverages the full capabilities of our M010 EMV card readers, and allows merchants to take mobile payments just about any way their customer desires.”
